Hello, I am a new user of Finale Notation Software,

Where can I find 'Hot Key' of Finale?
Because I feel when switching between dynamic hairpins, staccato mark or common notes, I should select them by only mouse...

Thank you a lot.

Hi Finale wisher,

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Are you trying to navigate, without the mouse, between different items already entered in your score?

I believe the monitor is the old Apple 30". I have two of the newer Apple monitors 27" attached with arms so I can move in portrait or landscape mode easily. It's a perfect setup for working in Finale. Here is a link to the arms I use www.amazon.com/.../ref=pd_cp_e_3

@Finale Wisher the keyboard shortcuts are found in Simple Entry Tool. From the Simple Menu, choose Simple Entry Options and then choose Keyboard Shortcuts.

HOpe this helps

I'm using notepad 2011. It's great for ideas and such. I've just uploaded all of my compositions and would like some feedback. Unfortunately, due to the limit of 7 pieces, I have to "split" some parts on the same staff, but I truly love Notepad. Please read my bio. There's a small "disclaimer". I am a 47 y/o bassist working in and around San Diego and love to write, but have had no real schooling in composition, arranging or anything. Learned a lot by working at a prominent "ROCK SCHOOL" in SD, got pointers from great musicians here and there, and lots of hands on with Notepad. I would really love to hear these live.  I'd like some advice on how to get musicians to play my pieces as well. If you have any comments or advice, I welcome them. Thanks! S

Hello, Scott:

Sorry...My English is not good, being very thankful for your quick reply.

What I said is: If I want to add a "pp" dynamic hairpin and a Legato Curve:

1.In Finale 2o11:
I should move my mouse to the "mf" box and double-click on the note, then move my mouse to the "Legato Curve" and select "Legato".

2.In Sibelius 6:
I can type "E"(Expressions) and just select what I want to add, then type "L"(Lines) and select "Legato Curve".

To achieve the same task, Sibelius needs fewer steps and times about moving users' mouse.

I love Finale and don't use Sibelius at all.
It's just my experience between Finale and Sibelius.

Hi Finale wisher,

You can do this in Finale using metatools. Click on the Expression Tool then press the number 8 to add a PP marking. A slur is S with the SmartShape Tool, etc.
